What is Gold / Rose Gold Vermeil? Will it tarnish or rust?
Gold/ Rose Gold Vermeil is a thick layer of 14K Gold (2.5microns) over sterling silver, classifying it under demi-fine jewelry range. It lasts decades if kept well. However, it is ultimately not Solid Gold, hence it may tarnish when it’s unworn for long period of time. To avoid tarnishing, it is a good practice to keep your vermeil pieces in an airtight bag (we provide it) for storage. Should tarnishing occurs, you can polish it off with our cleaning cloth (yes, also provided!) and your locket should look new once again. For more info, click HERE.
It is important to note that vermeil jewelry DOES NOT rust, unlike the lower range of costume jewelry that we see in the market 😊
What is Solid Gold 18K?
At Locket Allegro, we offer all our lockets in 18K as well. Colour options for 18K include Yellow Gold, Rose Gold and White Gold. 18K refers to 75% of pure gold mixed with 25% of metal alloys. It is a forever piece that does not tarnish and holds value. For that reason, Solid Gold lockets make not just a sentimental gift, but also a perfect heirloom piece to pass down to.
What is the turnaround time?
We ship out lockets approximately 2-3 weeks upon photo confirmation. If you have a tighter timeline to meet, please email us at rachel@locketallegro.com. Charges apply for express services.
I need the locket urgently as a gift, can I top up for express service?
Our typical turnaround time is 2-3 weeks. For express services, please write in to us at rachel@locketallegro.com.
Is warranty provided? What should I do if I received a defective locket?
We provide repairs and one to one replacement for factory/workmanship defects within 14 days notice upon the dispatch of your parcel. In the event of factory defects, please write to us at rachel@locketallegro.com and we will assist you for a replacement.
Please note that all lockets are handmade and we will not be liable for any misplacement, abuse, accident, wear & tear, and improper usage of the item.
As the items are handmade, we reserve the right to ascertain if the defect is eligible for repair or one to one replacement.
How do I make an order?
In order to have photos included in your locket, please ensure that you have uploaded 2 photos (left and right) during the check out. Once we have received your photos, we will crop them and send you a preview of the cropped images via email for your confirmation. Please note that we will not proceed with the crafting process till we receive a confirmation on your end. Should the photo that you have submitted deemed unsuitable for the shape of the locket that you have chosen, we will request for you to send us a new photo via Whatsapp. Please note that we do not provide any refunds should you decide not to proceed with your order. Once your locket has been completed, we will ship it out via registered mail.
Are the photos water-resistant? Can I shower with them?
Yes, you may shower with your solid gold, gold and rose gold vermeil, sterling silver lockets (closed up, not opened) daily. The colours on the photos will not bleed when it touches water. However, do note that the photos do get wet when soaked. Should the photos get wet, simply let it dry and it will look great again. It is important to avoid coloured water though, as the photos may be stained permanently.
Can I swim with my lockets?
It Is advisable to remove your lockets before swimming with chlorine as frequent contact may lower the quality of the photos with time.
Can I exercise with my lockets?
Yes- only for solid gold lockets.
For our Gold/Rose Gold Vermeil and Sterling silver lockets, we recommend removing them before exercising as sweat may cause tarnishing.
Are the photos replaceable?
Yes! We understand that faces do change with time (especially kids, they grow up too quickly !), we intentionally made the photos replaceable. We provide the service of changing of photos for $35, with drop off and pick up of lockets arranged by you. Alternatively, you may try to change it out yourself.
Can I change the photos once the order has been submitted?
You are allowed to change your photos during the photo cropping process. However, there will be a charge of $15 should you change your mind after you have given the confirmation on the cropped images.

Are there any delivery charges?
We offer free shipping within Singapore.
For international orders, shipping orders will be applied at checkout.
I received my locket but feel that the design does not suit me. Can I return or exchange?
As all lockets are handmade and customized, we do not offer any returns or exchanges.
